Georgia county registrars can start mailing absentee ballots to voters who requested one on Monday, Oct 5, 2026. That is the earliest day they may send them - some counties mail later.

Request your absentee ballot (no excuse needed) by Friday, October 23, 2026. Requests opened August 17. Apply well before the deadline so the ballot can reach you and get back to your county by 7 p.m. on Election Day.

Monday, October 4, 2027 is the last day to register, or to change your address, in time to vote in the November 2, 2027 municipal general election.
Georgia law puts every city's regular municipal election on the same day: the Tuesday after the first Monday in November of each odd-numbered year. In 2027 the first Monday in November is November 1, so the municipal general election is Tuesday, November 2, 2027. Runoffs, where needed, follow later in the fall.
