Wyoming county clerks begin sending absentee ballots for the general election on Tuesday, Oct 6, 2026, and the absentee voting period runs through Monday, Nov 2. Military and overseas voters get their ballots earlier, starting Friday, Sept 18.

A mailed registration form must reach your county clerk's office by Monday, Oct 19, 2026, when regular registration closes; a postmark alone is not enough. Mail registration is for those who cannot register in person, and the form must be notarized (except military and overseas voters). Absentee ballots can be requested any time in 2026 up to the day before the election (not on Election Day). Any registered voter may request one; no excuse needed. Requests by mail late in the period risk the ballot not arriving and returning in time.

Wyoming runs city and town elections on the statewide even-year calendar, so the municipal primary is held with the state primary on the first Tuesday after the third Monday in August (W.S. 22-2-104(b) and 22-23-201(a)). Because the next one falls after the November 2026 election, the next municipal primary is Tuesday, August 22, 2028: the third Monday in August 2028 is August 21, and the first Tuesday after it is August 22. A few towns have adopted a charter ordinance to hold a separate May election instead, so check with your town clerk.
