Nevada mails a ballot to every active registered voter automatically. County clerks may not send in-state voters their ballots before Monday, Oct 5, and must have them all out by Monday, Oct 12, so your ballot arrives sometime in that stretch.
Mail registration must be postmarked (or received) by Tuesday, October 6, 2026 — the fourth Tuesday before the election. Regular in-person registration at the county clerk's office closes Tuesday, October 6, 2026. After that, same-day registration is available at early voting sites and Election Day polling places (see sameDay).

Mailed ballots must be postmarked by Election Day (Nov 3) and received by the county clerk by 5:00 PM Saturday, November 7, 2026. Hand-delivered ballots and drop-box ballots must be in before polls close on Nov 3. Ballots with an unreadable postmark count if received by 5:00 PM Friday, November 6.
Online registration (requires a Nevada DMV license or ID) stays open through Election Day, but if you register online within 14 days of the election you must vote in person (early voting or Election Day), not by mail. You can register and vote in person at any early voting site (Oct 17–30) or at any Election Day polling place in your county (Nov 3, before polls close). Bring a current, valid Nevada DMV driver's license or ID card; if it doesn't show your current address, bring a document such as a utility bill, bank statement or paycheck showing it. You may have to vote a provisional ballot.

Nevada law, not city charters, sets municipal election dates, and since 2019 every city votes in even-numbered years alongside the state. The primary city election is held on the second Tuesday in June of each even-numbered year, which is Tuesday, June 13, 2028. There are no regular Nevada city elections in 2027.
Nevada general city elections are held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of even-numbered years, on the same day as the statewide general election. In 2028 the first Monday in November is November 6, so the election is Tuesday, November 7, 2028.
