Submit your online registration by midnight on Monday, October 5, 2026. Mailed registration forms must be postmarked no later than Monday, October 5, 2026. Hand-deliver your registration to the county voter registration office by close of business Monday, October 5, 2026 (5:00 PM if delivered to the Indiana Election Division).
Early in-person (absentee in-person) voting begins Tuesday, October 6, 2026; no reason needed. Early voting ends at noon local time on Monday, November 2, 2026; voters in line at noon may still vote. The 28-day window is set by state law; locations (clerk's office plus any satellite sites) and daily hours are set by each county.
Your application to vote by mail must be received by your county (or the Indiana Election Division) by 11:59 PM Thursday, October 22, 2026. Voting by mail in Indiana requires a qualifying reason.

Monday, April 5, 2027 is the last day to register or transfer registration for the May 4, 2027 municipal primary - by close of business in person, or by midnight online.
Indiana sets one statewide municipal primary date: Tuesday, May 4, 2027. Democratic and Republican candidates for city offices, and for town offices in towns of 3,500 or more, are nominated that day. Small towns under 3,500 usually nominate by convention instead, so the primary is not on the ballot everywhere.
